Ditch the Stench....For Good!

I was out running and a dark cloud came overhead dumping buckets of rain all over me, soaking my Brooks running shoes and custom orthotics.  I got home, used the hair dryer to dry out my shoes/orthotics and treated them with Clean Sweep shoe guard.  Clean Sweep is a nano silver spray that applies a clear coating when sprayed inside shoes and on orthotics.  This products kills bacteria, fungus and molds that cause TERRIBLE shoe odor!  I have invested hundreds of dollars into quality running shoes/orthotics and want to protect them from SMELLY SHOE FUNK.  These products are amazing at STOPPING the SMELL as well as PREVENTING the BACTERIA/FUNGUS from growing!  You can purchase this product from our London or Nicholasville office.

Find Your Perfect Match

Running... Having the right equipment makes a world of difference!

So I have committed to run my first 1/2 marathon with a group of friends in Columbus Ohio - mid October.  I am in week 7 of training and things are going really well.  After a few blisters, I quickly learned that I needed to rethink my running sock selection.  A patient of mine, who is a life long runner, recommended Balega socks.  I purchased a pair at John's Run/Walk shop and would highly recommend them!  I also continue to enjoy my Brooks Glycerin running shoes.  Remember, it is important to find the right style of Brooks for your foot structure/gait pattern.  The link below helps you make the right choice.  Now get out there and run!

Serious foot conditions leave NFL athletes on the sidelines...

To my dismay, I am officially out of the fantasy football playoffs!  My season was filled with player injuries and underperformance.  Maurice Jones Drew (pictured above) was one of my top draft picks that has been in a walking boot and crutches for much of the season.

Can foot injuries be prevented amongst athletes?

Dr Michael Coughlin, a leading foot and ankle expert believes the answer is YES!  In preventing these types of injuries Dr Couglin reports that "It's really the cleat pattern and the stiffness of the shoe that we found makes the difference."

The NFL has consulted with Dr Coughlin, who has since met with shoe companies to help them develope shoe gear that may help to prevent these injuries.
